B56-348. TRANSITIONAL JACK PLANE. Arnold Patent. Patented in 1907 by William Arnold of Oakland. The plane shown in Figure 146a and b of PTAMPIA II. Similar to the Gage patent, it provides for the mechanism holding the cutter to be withdrawn to compensate for wear to the wooden sole. 15" razee body with 2" cutter. Steel tote with nickel mostly worn off, wood and metal otherwise very clean.
