B56-360. PIANOMAKER'S INFILL MITER PLANE. Knorr & Mantz. One of only three known examples by this maker who, along with better known makers such as Brandt, Thoresen and Erlandsen, made European-style infill planes in the New York in the late 1800s for the pianomaking industry. Cast steel body with 9-1/2" sole, rosewood infill, Moulson Bros. iron with rosewood pad attached, which is screwed directly to the iron and doesn't have the steel bracket described by John Wells in his pioneering article (which at the time was the only known example).
