B57-269 TELESCOPING LEVEL. Lesh Patent. Patented in 1902 by Daniel Lesh of Fairview, PA, has sliding sections that allow it to be collapsed to 26" long or expanded to 46". Being made of stained softwood, it didn't wear well, and the sliding sections tend to swell up and jam, but this one is very clean and works smoothly; definitely the best example we've seen.
