B58-197 SHOOTING BOARD PLANE. Leonard Bailey?. 16" long with a 3-1/4" skewed cutter. There's a capital "B" cast into the lever cap, and the cap screw itself is identical to those used on the Victor line of planes. However, there's no record of Leonard Bailey having produced a plane like this (he did make a shooting board plane, but it has a different design). No other markings, and there's no fence to go with it. So was this designed by America's greatest planemaking genius, or just some guy whose name started with B and who happened to have a Victor cap screw lying around? Your guess is as good as ours. For what it's worth, we're aware of at least one other similarly marked plane. From the Bud Steere collection. Good 200-300
