B58-340 SMOOTHING PLANE. Bailey Tool Co. Defiance No. 14. The plane shown in Figure 69 of PTAMPIA I in the 8-1/2" smoothing plane length, with "Bailey Tool Co." cast into lever cap. Proper marked cutter and cap iron, but the cutter is cut short at the bottom of the slot so it can't be used. In addition, the nut holding the cap iron on his been ground down. Metal discolored but undamaged, beech tote and knob near fine. From the Bud Steere collection. Good 250-350
