An exceptionally nice and elaborate example; unlike most, it has cutters in both halves, plus a nicker secured by a bolt through the end. Turned hickory screws to adjust the width and serve as handles, plus four handforged iron bolts with thumbscrews to hold the plates apart at the correct distance. Brass plated throats, brass inlays around the handles and thumbscrews, and a series of five brass strips inlaid into one side of both halves.
