B62-573. INFILL SHOULDER PLANE. John Holland. Gunmetal body with 7-3/4" sweated steel sole, rosewood fill and wedge with "rhino horn" profile, 1-1/2" Ward & Payne iron with plenty of blade left. A lot of Holland's planes are unsigned, but this one is clearly stamped on the toe, along with his York Road address and the word "Improved." There's a chip from the wedge, and another very small from the rhino horn, and a few owner stamps, but otherwise very clean. From a legendary collection of infill and metal planes. Fine 300-600
