B62-617. TRANSITIONAL SMOOTHING PLANE. Tower & Lyon No. 74. The plane shown in PTAMPIA I, Figure 193, in the 8-1/2" unhandled length with a 1-1/2" original marked cutter. Cutter adjustment based on Chaplin's patent. Some light pitting on lever cap and cutter and wear to wood. Light stamp on toe. A rare plane. From the collection of Cliff Sapienza. Good+ 160-320
