B63-494. MITER PLANER. Langdon. Patented in 1872 by David Rogers and manufactured by Langdon Mitre Box Co. (later acquired by Millers Falls), this heavy duty brute makes short work of cutting mitres and, unlike the typical shooting board, can cut right or left handed mitres without slicing off the user's fingers. This is the middle size with 4" skew cutters and is in absolutely immaculate condition with the green and red paint job looking like it just came out of the factory. If it was repainted, they did a fantastic job. All parts, original marked cutters, and the prior owner has mounted it on a shaped cherry base. Unless you insist on a little rust for authenticity, you'll never, ever find a better example. From the collection of Bill Webber. 1200-2400
