B63-617. MATCHED SET OF COACHMAKER'S PLOUGH PLANES. Solid boxwood, each has a 3-1/2" sole. The fences are on opposite side of the soles for right and left handed use, and each has a squirrel tail with a carved spiral at the end protruding to the opposite side. Both are marked on the toe with the name "L.F. Smith", presumably maker. The boxwood is flawless, and marked with the small decorative details that mark the true master craftsman.
