TC25-177 PLAIN SURVEYING COMPASS. F.A. Heisely. 5-1/4" needle with sliding , silvered dial with "F.A .Heisley, Harrisburg" and five pointed star at north, circular talley counter at south. Sighting vanes and original dial cover. Frederick Augustus Heisely, born in 1792, was the apprentice of and successor to his father, Frederick Heisely. The brass has been polished, but it is toning down, and the instrument is very clean. Good+ 150-300
