B67-49 DOCUMENT. Apprenticeship Indenture. Indenture documents were used to legally bind an apprentice to a Master to learn his trade. This specific Indenture was for William Glenn to learn "the art and trade of a carpenter" from John O'Hare, for a term of 3-1/2 years, signed on May 11, 1885, with three wax seals. Inside a 16-1/2" x 12-1/2" modern frame. Among other things, the apprentice was forbidden to marry or engage in "fornication" during the term of the indenture. Document itself is 13" x 8". Uncommon.
