B67-225 JOIST DRILL. Stephen McClellan. McClellan, originally from San Marcos, Texas, is best known for his series of corner braces, manufactured by Millers Falls after he relocated to New York, but this is the first example of this 1902 patent we've seen. 24" by 17", with a clamp to attach it to a joist and a chain driven bit to drill through the adjacent joists. McClellan's name and the patent date are stamped into the lever arm. McClellan manufactured and distributed this himself as the "McClellan Little Giant Joist Tool." Overall surface oxidation, but no rust and seems to work smoothly. From the collection of Jim and Christa Schoenky. Good+ 200-400
