B67-268 INCLINOMETER. Pool & Son. Very rare example of the cast iron inclinometer with tilting head shown in Figure 3-1 of Rosebrook. "Pool & Son" is a mark used by John Pool after he and brother Horace went their separate ways. This one is marked "Patent Pending" on the 4" brass vial cover; other known examples are marked "Pat. Applied For" but no patent has been found. Japanning intact, the brass cover plate on the vial holder is dinged up but intact, vial possibly replaced but a good job. Good+ 800-1600
