B67-342 FILLETSTER PLANE. Loughborough Patent. Ultra rare example of Loughborough's 5/10/59 patent. Identical to the example shown in Figure 64 of PTAMPIA II, with two exceptions. First, it lacks the spring lever cap that fits over the cutter, and which was one of the patented features, and instead the cap screw holds the cutter directly. Everything looks original and we don't know if this was a variation or if the piece is missing. Second, the sliding depth stop lacks the foot and is simply a piece of metal with a slot, fairly crudely made and likely a replacement. Otherwise clean and complete, with Loughborough's name and patent date stamped into the original tote, faint but clearly legible. From the collection of Harold Unruh. Good 1500-3000
