B67-365 PULL CHAIN DRILL. Glasgow Gyro. Uncommon variation on the bow drill in which the drilling motion is produced by pulling on a spring-powered armature that automatically returns. There are a few versions around but all are uncommon; this one is made by McG.S. Ltd and is marked both "The Glasgow" and "Gyro," also has a British patent date. 10" long, works very smoothly. It has a chain and we've also seen them with leather straps. The breast plate is made of sheet metal with a lidded compartment for bit storage; empty but one bit is included in the drill. From the collection of Jim and Christa Schoenky. Good+ 100-200
