B67-416 RIP SAW. Disston & Son/Schweitzer. Single "Son" etch which dates it to 1865-71. The etch doesn't include the model number, but use of spring steel and applewood handle mark it as a No. 8. There is a second etch reading "The Favorite, Schweitzer Mnfg Co. 26R Pat. Applied For" that we don't recognize, 25" blade with nib, 5-1/2 ppi rip; oxidized but no pitting, but etches legible. Handle has deep notch, 1" medallion worn with hole in the center, four split nuts, small chips from both handles. From the collection of David Jeffers. Good+ 150-300
