B67-519 SHOULDER PLANE. Bryant & Witcombe Patent. These planes, with an angular casting, skewed cutter and offset tote, are usually referred to as "Lancashire pattern", which is odd since the inventors, George Edwin Bryant, patternmaker, and Edward James Witcombe, plane maker, were both from Bristol which is not in Lancashire. This is a brass example, marked with the British patent number, #4,172, issued in 1902, on a brass plate that can be removed to widen the mouth. Wood has mild wear and a few nicks, brass has some scratching. A nice example. Good+ 300-600
