B67-573 LEVEL WITH EXTERNAL PLUMB VIAL. J & H.M. Pool. These rare levels, with the plumb vial mounted in a brass container attached to the side of the stock, are always unsigned, but are attributed to the Pool brothers based on their construction. See Rosebrook, page 29. This one is red mahogany, 27" long, with the plumb compartment mortised into the side and scalloped ends on the brass vial surround. The wood is very clean for its age, with only a few minor scrapes, and has "AT" stamped in both ends. One of the nicest examples we've seen. Fine 150-300
