B67-669 MODERN MAKER. Shepherd Tool Co. Infill Smoothing Plane. Steel body with 8" parallel side sole, exotic hardwood infill (looks like rosewood but with more prominent grain) open tote, 2-1/4" iron. Marked with Shepherd's griffin mark on the iron and with engraved "Shepherd" signature on brass lever cap. Shepherd made planes and kits in Ontario and shut down in 2006 to the loss of lovers of fine tools everywhere. From the collection of Bill Webber. Fine 200-400
