B67-702 PORTABLE DIAMOND SCALE. R.S. Patrick. Patented in 1922 by Charles Hausman of Jersey City and manufactured by Seederer-Kohlbusch, Inc., it was intended as an accurate scale suitable for weighing diamonds and other precious stones. Contained in a 6" by 2-3/4" wooden case with a hinged lid; in used, the lid is propped open and the balance suspended from a mechanism in the lid. Contains five original weights and a compartment that held smaller weights, lid is present (not pictured) but weights are missing. The box is stamped with the manufacture and patent information and a serial number, and has tin plaques on the top and side identifying it as owned by R.S Patrick, a Duluth importer of industrial diamonds for drilling. Case has some scratching, but intact and functioning. From the collection of Jim and Christa Schoenky. Good+ 100-200
