B68-32 SHUTTLE PLANE. Stanley No. HFL-L2082E. Patented November 24, 1885, by L. Leeds, and designed for smoothing and squaring up the sides of wooden shuttles used in textile looms. Manufactured by Stanley for only 30 years or so; only a few examples have been found and ones with the metal frames the plane attaches to are exceptionally rare. This example has a 2" sweetheart cutter, 9-3/4" sole, japanning 90%, notched rectangle mark in lever cap has 50% orange paint. Wood has mild wear and some slight oxidation to metal, and missing the frame like most. From the collection of Harold Unruh. Good 750-1500
