B68-164 COMBINATION TOOL. P.A. Gladwin IOB. Cast iron version of Gladwin's 1878 patented combination plane and tool holder, with Gladwin's name cast into the lever cap. No walnut knob but catalog illustration on page 36 of PTAMPIA I shows no knob and illustration on top of box also does not include a knob so presumably this was an optional accessory. Includes three original tool inserts and original rule. Japanning 90%. Box is worn with both ends of lid missing and faded label on top. Uncommon to find these in their original boxes. Good+ 500-1000
