B68-272 CAST IRON LEVEL. Wm. Nicholson. Nicholson's original patent design, in which the level vial is encased in a rotating assembly that covers the vial when not in use. This was the first thing Stanley got rid of when they purchased Nicholson's business in 1867, and pre-Stanley levels with the original mechanism are rare. This is the 19-1/2" version. Japanning 50%. Original vial. Good+ 250-500
