B68-317 BLOCK PLANE. Metallic Plane Co. The plane shown in Figure 212 of PTAMPIA I, with a metal front knob and matching cap screw (not knurled). Proper marked "Excelsior" cutter and has "Metallic Plane Co., Auburn, NY, Patented" stamped on the sole which is unusual. The great majority of these planes have the delicate palm rest extension to the lever cap broken off, but this one is intact. Japanning 75%. Good+ 125-250
