B68-331 SMOOTHING PLANE. Chaplin's Improved Patent No. 1233. Based on Chaplin's second patent and marked "Chaplin's Improved Patent" on the cutter; patent information stamped on cheek, 8" corrugated sole with "No. 1233" cast behind knob, adjustable throat, hard rubber tote and black painted knob. Japanning 90%. Wood and metal have light wear, some scratches and dinging on cheeks. Good+ 100-200
