B68-340 SMOOTHING PLANE. Munks & Son. . A very rare example of a blade adjustment mechanism patented in the UK, in 1884, and manufactured by John Munks & Son of Sheffield. Uses a direct screw adjustment similar to the Challenge plane (Lot 341). See PTAMPIA II, Figure 257. 6-5/8" long with cast iron tote, 1-7/8" unmarked cutter held by brass wingnut.
