B68-445 SET OF THREE TRY SQUARES. Wm Marples. 3", 6", and 9" blades, all with rosewood handles with fancy brass plates. Marples advertised this pattern in its 1876 catalog as "fancy shield." It's marked "patent"; a reference to Marples' registered design patent No. 3835. Blades have light pitting and rounded corners. 6" blade cracked. Handles have moderate wear and a few spots of tarnish. A nice set. From the collection of Steve Dice. Good 125-250
