B68-499 JACK PLANE. Chaplin Patent No. 5. O. R. Chaplin's first patent, manufactured by Tower & Lyon, 9" sole with "5" cast behind front; non-adjustable throat, iron tote and knob; "Chaplin's Patent" cast around knob, proper 2" marked cutter. Japanning 90%, nickel plating on tote, knob and lever cap have some light corrosion. From the collection of Harold Unruh. Good 200-400
