B68-535 IRON PLOW PLANE. The Boss. In the final version of his improved version of the Phillips patent plow, Matthias Mayo replaced the original pinstriping with a coat of gold paint, cast the four letters of his name into the heads of the locking screws, and cast "The Boss Plane" in the side. Gold paint 70%, rosewood tote and fence near fine, good clear casting on the screw heads. One original cutter. One of the truly iconic patented plow planes. From the collection of Harold Unruh. Good 1000-2000
