B68-598 CORE BOX TEMPLATE. Union Mfg. Co. No. X4-1/4. 25" long by 5" and 5" high wooden frame, made by Bill McCarthy in 2020. Core box templates are used to make a sand core, to then be used to pour iron into to make a casting. This example was a prototype for the Union No. X4-1/4 that was eventually rejected by the foundry, but nonetheless a unique piece of Union Mfg. Co. history. Good+ 100-200
