B68-646 FRAMED BRACE. William Marples Beech Ultimatum. Double ring pad type, 67 Spring Street medallion and stamp date it to 1854-55; good ebony head with complete ivory ring. There is some shrinkage in the fill and a crack in the grip but the wood is otherwise very clean; brass unpolished with only very light wear.
