B68-660 JACK PLANE. L.L. Davis No. 45. Rare example of Davis's 1875 patent in the 15" jack plane size. Unmarked 2" cutter that's probably a replacement. Faint traces of decorative pinstriping at the heel and remnants of gold stripe around the base of the frog which is usually worn off. Light wear to tote, but wood and metal otherwise clean. Patent date stamped on left cheek. From the collection of Harold Unruh. Good+ 400-800
