B68-718 LOT OF TWO BRASS DIVIDERS. O. Stoddard. Oscar Stoddard of Detroit received this patent on 8/26/1872 for a caliper with extendible legs with inserts that could be reversed to hold a pencil. One is 8" long with an oval Stoddard trademark including the patent date. The other is 16" long and is an earlier version marked only "Stoddard" and "Patent Applied For." The earlier version has the points locked with set screws as shown in the patent; the later version uses compression nuts. Both with brass bodies and steel tips. Metal has light wear but overall clean. Good+ 100-200
