B68-740 SMOOTHING PLANE. Bailey Tool Co. Based on Joseph Bailey's 1871 patent for the cam lever cap. The plane shown in PTAMPIA I, Figure 67, with an 8-1/2" sole and 2" cutter. Reglued split in tote, japanning 80%. Metal has overall oxidation with light pitting on cutter. From the collection of Harold Unruh. Good 250-500
