It has a 14" heavy cast iron body with rounded ends and what looks like rosewood fill and closed tote, with a vertically bedded cutter and an elaborate brass adjustment mechanism activated by a large adjusting knob and a locking knob in the toe. A few chips in tote, metal overall oxidized but otherwise clean. Rulemaker planes used a vertical scraping iron to provide a fine uniform finish for boxwood or ivory.
