TC26-250 INFILL SHOULDER PLANE. J. Popping. Cast iron shoulder plane by Joseph Popping, one of the rare US makers of infills, who were clustered in New York in the late 1800s. The cutter, rather than the body, is marked, which was typical, but the design is consistent with other Popping planes and identical to PTAMPIA II Figure 301a. 5-1/2" sole 7/8" iron. Dark rosewood fill. Wedge has heavy wear. Metal oxidized. From the collection of Harold Unruh. Good 100-200
