B56-387. EIGHTEENTH CENTURY MOLDING PLANE. I. Walton. Very uncommon design, with a skewed 1/2" round, but a second cutter mounted ahead of it which you would think would be a nicker but is also a round. It also has an uncommon cast iron depth gauge. 11-5/8" long with flat chamfers, replaced wedge. Born in 1719, John Walton, Jr. of Reading, Mass, was one of America's earliest planemakers. In 1775 he was one of the Minutemen who fired the shot heard round the world. Good clear A "In Reading" mark. Good 200 - 400 **ALL ABSENTEE BIDS MUST BE RECEIVED BY END OF DAY FRIDAY JUNE 26, 2020.
