B56-559. EIGHTEENTH CENTURY MOLDING PLANE. D. Heis. Astragal with quirks on both ends, 1-1/4" wide. 10" long by 3-1/2" high. Wide flat chamfers, relieved wedge. Not sure of the wood but it's not beech, reddish and probably some kind of fruitwood. Heis's B mark, four stars in AWP, faint but legible. Some wear on the sole but otherwise like new.
