B56-672. PATENTED BEVEL. J. T. Langlais. This uncommon bevel has rotating gears at the joint which allow the two legs to be moved in concert. The majority of examples are rosewood with brass locking levers; this is the older version with steel plates on the legs and without the levers, although there is typically a single locking toggle that is missing on this version Marked "Angle Bisecter Patented June 1894."
