B56-712. SET OF MATCH PLANES. Sargent Nos. 1066, 1067, and 1068. These planes, designed to cut tongue and groove joints, were Sargent's equivalent to the Stanley 146-148 series, but in this case Sargent didn't just copy the Stanley design but came up with its own, patented by Albert Page in 1912, using a double sided design with a handle on each end that would be turned upside down to cut the groove. Sized for 3/8", 5/8" and 7/8" boards respectively. All are uncommon, with the 1067 (5/8") the rarest. All clean and complete with only minor spots of nickel loss, original cutters, bedded in styrofoam in a sliding lid user made box, 31" x 12-1/2", for storage or display. Fine 300 - 500 **ALL ABSENTEE BIDS MUST BE RECEIVED BY END OF DAY FRIDAY JUNE 26, 2020. CURRENT ABSENTEE HIGH BIDS MAY BE OBTAINED BY CALLING (800) 248-8114 UNTIL 5:00PM, FRIDAY, JUNE 26, 2020.
