B57-138 INFILL MITRE PLANE. Napoleon Erlandsen. Cast steel body with 8" sole, rosewood infill where it shows but hardwood under the cutter. 1-3/4" Buck Bros. iron, bedded upside down with bevel up and with a rosewood pad screwed to the top. Marked "N. Erlandsen" on toe extension. PTAMPIA I, Figure 264. The Erlandsens were among the small handful of European trained planemakers who made infills in New York in the late 1800s. Partially buffed on the left cheek and a small chip in the throat, otherwise very clean. Good+ 800-1500 **All bids must be placed by end of day Friday, October 30, 2020.
