B58-252 SURVEYOR'S PLAIN COMPASS. G.J. Heisely. Silvered brass card, fleur-de-lis at north, "G.J. Heisely, Harrisburg" at south; 5-1/2" blued-steel needle, circular tally counter. The needle has a bent tip, the glass is stuck inside the cover, the only level is missing its vial and one end, and one of the sighting vanes doesn't seem to fit although it looks original. No case but includes original monopod stand. Definitely a compass with issues, but one that would repay some restoration work. George Jacob Heisely was the elder son and apprentice of Frederick Heisely. Good- 100-200
