B58-388 THREE-ARMED PLOW PLANE. Mockridge & Francis. Extremely rare unhandled example of the three-armed self-regulating plow manufactured by the Newark, NJ, partnership of Abraham Mockridge and Elias Francis in the 1860s. Body, fence and arms look like ebony but could be very dark rosewood. Brass adjusting nut and bridge, brass-tipped arms. The wooden nut on the outboard side of the body is a modern replacement, the wedge is missing its finial, and there are some miscelleaneous dings, particularly on the heel, but overall a nice clean example of a very rare plane. C mark, upside down, plus user names on toe. Good+ 6000-9000
