B58-582 PRESENTATION IVORY CARPENTER'S RULE. E.P. Preston. Two fold, two foot rule with German silver arched hinges. Pre-1894 mark without the "& Sons." The ivory is in decent condition, lightly yellowed, more so on the outer face, with one very small crack and a couple of small stains, slightly sprung, has its face pins and the ivory around the face pin holes broken out. The great feature is the very elaborate presentation engraving on the hinge: "Presented to George Wordsworth on his 70th Birthday by his Son Ambrose and Grand-Children (four listed) Nov. 28th 1881."
