B59-349 PROTOTYPE WOOD BOTTOM SCRAPER. Justus Traut. Basically a transitional version of the No. 212, 9" sole with 2" unmarked cutter, japanned cutter holder with Stanley lever cap. Unlike the various cast iron scrapers, the cutter angle is fixed and can't be adjusted, probably just one reason Stanley never put it into production. It's stamped on the toe "J.A. Traut April 14, 1908." That was a Tuesday, but we haven't been able to locate the patent. Japanning 98%, wood immaculate. Fine 2000-4000
