Early type, circa 1870, with domed brass cap screw, early profile, single stepped bun. 20-1/2" dovetailed sole, beech fill and closed tote. 2-1/2" Moseley & Son iron. Small "Spiers Ayr" upside down mark on lever cap, stamped on toe. Iron body has some light surface pitting, there are some scratches and dings on the wood and some scratches on lever cap, but no major damage. Not bad for 150 years old.
