B59-459 SURVEYOR'S PLAIN COMPASS. G.J. Heisely. Silvered brass card, fleur-de-lis at north, "G.J. Heisely, Harrisburg" at south; 5-1/2" blued-steel needle, circular tally counter. Includes its original monopod Jacob's staff. The needle has a bent tip, the glass has putty that looks like a repair, and the only level is missing its vial. George Jacob Heisely was the elder son and apprentice of Frederick Heisely. Good 600-1000
