b61-229 WORKBENCH WITH TOOLS. Homage to Hammacher Schlemmer. Not truly a replica because it incorporates some modern improvements, such as pneumatic lid supports, but a reinterpretation of Hammacher Schlemmer's classic combination workbench and tool cabinet by a modern master craftsman. Cherry and walnut with walnut burl veneer, it's 47-1/2" by 21-3/4" and 36" high when closed, the top, with its tool racks, pivots up to uncover the workbench surface, both sides fold out, and there are nine drawers and a tool cubby on the front. The maker has carefully assembled a collection of appropriate tools, both antique and modern, and the bench is being sold with the collection intact. The lid includes a set of Bracht chisels and gouges and Irwin auger bits, along with a Stanley No. 95 level, two Bridge City bevels, and marking gauges. There are two Veritas vises, one side mounted in the right folding compartment and the other that can be mounted on the front in use, a set of five Adria brass back dovetail and carcase saws in graduated sizes, a Stanley No. 150 mitre box, a set of Kearney and Foot files, three drawers full of Swiss made chisels and gouges, and Millers Falls No. 05 eggbeater drill and No. 1710 bit. The sets of chisels, files, and bits all have their original rolls, which are included, and four mallets. Every tool is in immaculate condition in its proper holder. An absolutely breathtaking collection. Fine 10000-20000
