This closely resembles the uncommon triangular inclinometer that is exemplified by lot 270, but unlike the manufactured version that is usually found, the brass plate on the upright portion has two crudely cut holes for the two vials (which are different types), and it is not marked "patent applied for." The long curved inclinometer vial is a shorter replacement. The casting is also slightly different, which leads us to think this may have been a prototype rather than a crude repair job.
